Australia
Employment conditions are generally referenced to Awards at either National, State or Industry level. For example, the (Modern) Manufacturing Award.

In Australia employees have minimum employment conditions:

• the guaranteed minimum wage rates
• maximum ordinary working hours (38 hours per week)
• protection from undue pressure, coercion and duress
• protection from unlawful dismissal.

In addition, all permanent employees are entitled to:

• four weeks paid annual leave
• 10 days paid sick/carers leave
• one year unpaid maternity or paternity leave.
